Arnold & Michael, uncle & nephew, mechanic & keyboard-warrior are taking on the challenge of the ShitBox 2024 Adelaide to Perth via the Oodnadatta Track and Uluru Rally. And we want to raise at-least $10,000 for the Cancer Council.
To do that, we have decided to SHAVE OFF OUR beloved (by ourselves at-least) FACIAL HAIR! Arnold will shave off his MO for the second time ever since he was 18 and Michael, his BEARD of 10 years.
Michael's beard currently consists of over 30cm of tenderly manicured facial follicles in varying shades of (less) ginger and (more) silver. The beard has been in existence for about 10 years; from translucent stubble to glorious facial mane! In the time period of the beard Michael has meet a girl and married her, meet her extended family, worked at the same job for 8 years and spawned a little boy who is crazy to see his Daddies 'chin'. Along the way, Michael dropped about 50kg of body mass so maybe the face will not look like it did before?
Arnold will be shaving of his Mo in Young around September and Michael his beard in Brisbane in November (too cold any earlier). We are in the process of organising an events; this page will be updated soon and you're all invited for a brew and to see some awkward white skin be exposed.
About ShitBox Rallies:
Shitbox Rally is the largest community lead fundraiser for Cancer Council in Australia and is now in its 14th year. Part of the participation is that all teams have to raise a minimum of $5,000 but most teams raise well above this amount as you can see with the Autumn 2024 rally target set at $2,000,000 plus.

Shitbox Rally is the adventure of a lifetime challenging participants and their cars, worth no more than $1,500, on a 7 day drive across Australia to raise money for cancer research.
The rally is not a race – it’s a fun, colourful, unpredictable adventure with participants travelling at their own pace in smaller groups. Vehicles often break down but “we never leave anyone behind” and each night is spent camping beneath the stars and celebrating the day’s achievements. It all adds up to an incredible opportunity to see Australia’s vast and beautiful countryside and make lifelong friends, many brought together after experiencing cancer themselves or seeing cancer impact family and friends.
Since it’s inception the rally has been the largest fundraiser for the Cancer Council nationally.
